Rohini models a night in, the feminine urge to dress up and spend the night alone in her own space. This short film represents moments of relaxation and therapeutic routine, sometimes feeling pretty and spending time with yourself makes you feel good. For the concept of the film, I wanted to emulate a time and place that I’ve felt self care and indulgence. The pieces featured in the film are a hand sewn glove that was up-cycled from a thrifted skirt, button down top, and donated jewelry and a crochet top made to my size by being crocheted as I wore it. The process of making the top was another representation of vanity as self care, being made to my exact desire of size and jewelry placement based on intuitive creation. The film was edited using Adobe Premier and uses the song “Me and Your Mama” by Childish Gambino as the soundscape.
